: Charlton Down Vs Plush (home)
I won
the toss!!!! It all went a bit down hill from there!I chose to bat first
as I felt we had a pretty good batting side?!
We
started steady with Coates-Dale (36) and Eric B (15) staying at the
crease for 10 overs with a partnership score of 34 runs. But then Eric
was bowled out and the decline started. We suddenly lost five wickets
with 3 batsmen getting ducks and the other two making 5 between them!!
Then
in strode Mike Lingham with his head held high ,swinging his bat like a
medieval knight slaying the bowlers all over the show! He even smashed
his first ever six in to the road-car drivers beware!
We
were eventually bowled out for a disappointing 109 but it was a decent
score considering at one stage it looked impossible!
So
after a lovely lunch we set out on our quest to win!
We
started well with me, Will Silk and Phil Holdcroft bowling a good line
with an oval ball that Mike had previously beaten in to submission! The
problem was we only got one wicket!
So I
gave to ball to Rudo and Coates-Dale. After a couple of loose overs Rudo
exploded in to action taking two wickets in as many balls and almost
getting his hat-trick! Meanwhile Coates -Dale was a tight as a ducks you
know what in only conceding 11 runs from 7 overs and getting two
wickets.
Even
the valiant effort from all the fielders who were great (apart from my
lack of diving skills) they got over the finish line with 5 overs to
spare!
Over
all a good game and a lot of positive can be taken from our fielding!
